How To Use The Simplex System
1. Gather Your Supplies
Please ensure you use products that are safe for both timber and glass:
- Microfiber cloth or soft sponge
- Mild soapy water or a timber-safe window cleaner
- Bucket of clean water
2. Unlock the Window
Release the sash lock, usually located at the meeting rail, to free the sash for movement. Make sure the sash hinges are flat against the bottom sash and locked into place when you lift the bottom sash up.
3. Swing the Lower Sash Inward
Remove the baton rod and carefully swing the lower sash toward you. Always support its weight, as timber sashes can be heavy.
4. Lower the Upper Sash
With the lower sash swung inward, gently draw the top sash down. For larger windows, use a sash eye to assist. This feature ensures full access to both sides of the glass.
5. Clean the Glass
