Did you know that air infiltration can be reduced by as much as 86% by draught-proofing your sash windows? So, reduce those draughts and make your home more energy efficient. You’ll lower your heating bills and save a considerable amount of money.

The Eco Sash & Case Draught Proofing System
We use the best draught proofing system on the market today. The draught proofing will be inserted into your original timber. We always try to use the original timber and rarely use new wood.
Gaps in old sash window can range from 3mm to 10mm. So, our draught system comes in 3 different lengths to fit any size of gaps in sash windows, from 5.5mm, 8.5mm to 11.5mm.
The baton rods in the windows are removed. They are routed out to take the appropriate gauge of draught pile. The lower sash window is routed along mid and bottom rails and fitted with 11.5mm gauge draught pile.
We Use our Thermal Imaging Camera to Test Air Infiltration and Heat Loss
Before we install our draught proofing system, we can test your windows for any signs of air infiltration or heat loss using a thermal image camera. This can pinpoint any unseen problems.
Many old windows are not perfectly aligned so the cameral lets us check the gaps in each window, ensuring we fit the correct gauge of draught pile.
After installing the draught proofing, we will re-test your windows to make sure our draught proofing is correctly fitted and your sash windows are energy efficient.

Draught Proofing - The Facts
You may be surprised to hear that the total airspace around the average sash window is equivalent to a hole in the wall 6 inches square in size. That’s big enough to fit your arm through!
With all this room for manoeuvre, it is no wonder that sash windows tend to rattle and let in draughts. Draught proofing sash windows fixes this easily.
It is also commonplace to position a radiator directly beneath, resulting in energy and money going literally straight out the window.
How will draught proofing my sash windows help?
Airspace is inherent to the design of sash windows; it is necessary to allow windows to move. The Eco Sash & Case draught proofing system will simply fill this gap with a soft brush, creating a barrier to all of those unwanted nasties and keeping valuable heat in. Your home will instantly become a cosier, cleaner, safer environment, not to mention cheaper and greener to run.
Will it be visible?
No. Using the ECO Sash & Case Draught Proofing System, the brush strips, known as weather fin piles, are fitted between the inner and outer frames, sealing the gaps. They literally become part of the frame. This cannot be seen unless you look very closely with your windows open.
How will it affect the movement of the sash windows?
Will draught proofing require planning permission?
You won’t need planning permission for this; and thanks to a government green initiative, only 5% VAT is charged for this service. It is also strongly advised by the Energy Saving Trust.
